Peanut Butter and Jelly Challenge

Did you know 1-in-8 children in Eastern Wisconsin do not know where their next meal is coming from? Help Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin ensure kids have the fuel they need to achieve their maximum potential in the classroom and on the playground by supporting the PB&J Challenge, presented by Hydrite.

We’ve teamed up with Milwaukee Bucks superstar, Bobby Portis Jr., our beloved sandwich mascot “PJ”, and a rookie to the PB&J Challenge, Bobby Portis Jr. Junior to encourage others to give in whatever way they can during the PB&J Challenge. If you’re able to donate, please do. If you’re willing to volunteer your time at our Milwaukee or Appleton campuses, then we have a spot for you. If you’d like to organize a peanut butter and jelly drive, we’re here to help.

Why peanut butter and jelly? In addition to being shelf-stable, packed with protein and nutrients, and loved by kids, peanut butter and jelly are two of the most commonly-requested items from food pantries and our neighbors in need. Join Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin in spreading the love by organizing a peanut butter and jelly drive at your school or workplace, or simply make a donation… and help us Box Out Hunger!

HOST A PB&J DRIVE

Ready to join the PB&J Challenge? Here’s what you need to know:

  • You may collect donations of peanut butter (creamy or chunky) and jelly (any flavor) in any container. Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin does have large donation bins available for pickup at our Milwaukee or Appleton campus.
  • Do not donate bread or other perishable foods. Please avoid glass jars.
  • Drop off all donations at either campus during normal business hours – no appointment necessary to drop off.
  • Visit the Food Drive page on our website for ideas to incentivize your food drive and engage your group!
  • You can also host a Virtual Food Drive, which are easy to share with friends and family over social media, and can even be set up as a head-to-head contest between employees or departments. Click the “Start a Fundraiser” button below to get started.
  • If you have any questions, please contact our Events Manager, Jessecca Miller at jmiller@FeedingAmericaWI.org.

BEHIND THE SCENES GALLERY

We’re excited to peel back the curtain and share some delightful behind-the-scenes moments from the making of our PB&J Challenge campaign commercial! Click to the left and right to scroll through each photo. Behind every frame is a burst of creativity and a dash of fun that perfectly captures the spirit of our organization’s mission. A huge shout-out to Plum Media, the brilliant minds behind the lens, for turning our vision into reality!

“It’s all about giving back and spreading your blessings with others. I come from humble beginnings. We never did it on our own, we always had help along the way. That little ounce of help can take someone a long way. Being able to have this platform and spread my blessings with others has always been a calling of mine.”
– Bobby Portis Jr.
