Fresh produce is one of the most frequently requested items by our pantry partners, and often moves quickly out of our warehouses, which makes procuring fresh produce critical to solving hunger in Eastern Wisconsin. By working with local farmers and growers across our 35-county service area, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is able to provide more fresh, healthy and nutritious food to help the communities we serve thrive.
There are many benefits to donating your excess or slightly imperfect produce:
- Reduction of costs associated with storage, transportation and disposal
- Waste minimization and improved sustainability
- Receipts for potential tax deductions
- Supporting the food-insecure members of your local community
