TEFAP | The Emergency Food Assistance Program
The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a federally-funded nutrition program that moves food from farms to food banks to families facing hunger. Through TEFAP, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) purchases nutritious food from U.S. growers and producers. Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin (and other emergency assistance organizations) then distributes these USDA foods to eligible individuals and families. TEFAP is administered through the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

CSFP | Commodity Supplemental Food Program
Seniors who struggle with food insecurity are more likely to experience depression and other health problems. In addition, decreased mobility, fixed incomes, and rising healthcare costs can make maintaining access to sufficient amounts of nutritious food challenging.
Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin supports seniors in need by leveraging all available resources, including the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), which is a federally-funded food program designed to help low-income seniors access healthy food provided by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). CSFP is administered through the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.
