Volunteers are our secret ingredient! When you give your time to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, you get something amazing in return, maybe even life-changing: the feeling that you are personally helping to put food on the table for families that truly need it most. We have a wide variety of volunteer opportunities at our Milwaukee and Appleton campuses and welcome individuals, friends, families, companies, and social groups with open arms and grateful hearts. Thank you for your interest in helping us solve hunger by becoming a Hunger Hero!
Some examples of volunteer activities include: packaging, labeling, and sorting food donations, checking for food quality, sorting meat products, and repacking bulk food products into family-sized portions. Volunteers must be able to stand for extended periods of time, be able to lift up to 15 pounds, and must be at least 10 years old. Children under the age of 16 are required to be accompanied by an adult the entire shift.
Shift times vary based on our calendar and needs, however we typically offer shifts Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. OR 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., as well as select Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. by appointment only.
