Rebekah knows the power of a good meal.

As long as she can remember, she has pulled double duty, pursuing a worthwhile career and supporting her family, including her husband Zach and their two kids, Gwen and Erik. At the core of their bond was good meals. Then, everything changed …

“I went from math camp teacher, tutor, full-time mom, full-time college student, to sleeping 20 hours a day and having trouble holding my head up,” Rebekah shares.

She found herself facing health issues, making work impossible; it jeopardized her ability to feed her family. She knew she needed help — so she reached out to her community.

I’ve had to go to the food pantry in the town where I grew up and accept food from people that grew up knowing me,” Rebekah says. “And I didn’t feel judged by any of them.”

The experience was emotional for Rebekah, who wasn’t used to asking for help from anyone.

“For anyone who needs help, that’s an amazing feeling to have,” she continues.

Additionally, thanks to a summer meals program, her children are able to eat meals at the local library, providing the vital support this family needs.

“That’s one extra meal that I don’t have to worry about,” Rebekah says. “I have a whole community around me, and that’s always something I’ve felt strongly growing up around here.”

Rebekah and her family have the meals and support they need this season because you cared and offered your generous support. Thank you!
