Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin to Distribute Thanksgiving Turkeys Made Possible through American Rescue Plan Act Funding
Milwaukee area food pantries will receive thousands of pounds worth of turkeys this holiday season
MILWAUKEE, WI – On Thursday, Nov. 17. Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin will distribute Thanksgiving turkeys to local food pantries, right in time for the upcoming holiday.
Funding for this turkey distribution was made possible by the American Rescue Act and the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP).
“We work so closely with our network partners throughout the year, ensuring that the community has access to healthy foods,” said Patti Habeck, President and CEO of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. “To be able to distribute Thanksgiving turkeys, keeping the tradition of a holiday meal alive, is extremely important to our organization and helps fuel our goal of ending hunger in the state of Wisconsin.”

WHEN: Thursday, November 18, 2022 (We will see the most activity between 8-9 a.m. but partners will continue to pick up throughout the morning.)
Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin executed a similar distribution in the Fox Valley earlier this week. That distribution was attended by Secretary Romanski of DATCP. “Through the Governor’s investments in the Food Security Initiative, DATCP and Feeding Wisconsin food banks are helping connect those experiencing food insecurity with products from farmers and processors right here in Wisconsin,” he said.
