Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin Partners with Caleb Westphal for Friday Fish Fry Day

The third-annual event encourages $10 donations to buy dinner for a neighbor in need

MILWAUKEE, WI – The third annual Friday Fish Fry Day will be held on Friday, February 24, 2023. Friday Fish Fry Day aims to bring family and friends together to celebrate the Friday night fish fry tradition. A secondary goal is to support the local fish fry restaurants that enrich our communities. Created by Caleb Westphal, Friday Fish Fry Day is celebrated in Wisconsin, in the Midwest, in the United States, and throughout the world.

For the second year, Friday Fish Fry Day is partnering with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin to provide for the 1 in 8 people in our state facing hunger. Participants are encouraged to donate $10 to Feeding America in the spirit of “buying dinner” for a neighbor in need. They then receive the opportunity to vote for their favorite Wisconsin fish fry establishment, and are entered to win a Korbel prize pack, courtesy of Brown-Forman, maker of Wisconsinites’ go-to brandy for Old Fashioneds. For every dollar donated, Feeding America can provide four meals to someone facing hunger. The campaign will begin on Friday Fish Fry Day (February 24) and run through April 7.

“We are excited to once again partner on this fundraising campaign that celebrates a Wisconsin tradition while provide for Wisconsin families who are struggling to make ends meet,” said Patti Habeck, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin President and CEO. “Adding Brown Forman and their Korbel brand as a partner just makes sense. We appreciate their added support.”

About Korbel California Champagne
Established in 1882 in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley, Korbel Champagne Cellars produces the United States’ most popular méthode champenoise champagne. But the true measure of Korbel’s success during its 140 years can be seen in the impact it’s had on American consumers and its presence at various celebrations throughout the years. Owned and managed by the Heck family since 1954, Korbel currently makes eleven California champagnes and a limited amount of still wine. In a separate facility, Korbel also produces one of the country’s most respected brandies.
