Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin Hosts Pick Fresh Delivery
Attend a cooking class event with this plant-based Milwaukee startup

MILWAUKEE, WI (October 20, 2022) – Pick Fresh Delivery, a Milwaukee-based start-up, is hosting a cooking class at Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin on Saturday, Oct. 22.

The plant-based online grocery store and delivery service is focused on fighting food insecurity and health disparities of people living in food deserts by improving their access to fresh and nutritious foods. The mission of Pick Fresh Delivery aligns with the goals and initiatives of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

“We are excited to support Pick Fresh Delivery and their goal to maximize resources to combat food deserts in our area,” said Patti Habeck, President and CEO of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. “This is an exciting new startup and we are looking forward to seeing their positive impact on the community we also serve.”

A minority and woman-owned company, Pick Fresh Delivery will serve nearly 150,000 Milwaukeeans living within the city limits.

Pick Fresh Delivery was recently awarded funding through the Jrue and Lauren Social Impact Grant.

“If we can raise $25,000, (Jrue and Lauren Holiday) will match our campaign dollar per dollar,” said Sacha Simmons, CEO and Founder of Pick Fresh Delivery. “Those funds will give us the startup capital to get everything we need to provide this incredible service to the people of Milwaukee. We are going to change the way that people in food deserts eat and live, one order at a time.”
