The Milwaukee Bucks are more than just talent on the court; they’ve made a significant impact on the community and our mission to solve hunger.

Coach Mike Budenholzer, or Coach Bud as we affectionately call him, and the Bucks raised funds for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin through a unique dining experience last March. Instead of serving up the assists in their jerseys, NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, all-star Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe, and the team put on aprons and served up entrées at the exclusive dinner.

Chef Justin Carlisle of Ardent and Chef Jarvis Williams of SURG on the Water prepared the delicious dinner served by the Milwaukee Bucks team. It was an intimate experience where attendees got to meet the players and support a great cause. The Coach Bud Dinner was the first of its kind in Milwaukee and raised enough funding to provide 363,000 meals to those facing hunger in our community.

Coach Bud also partnered with Feeding Wisconsin, the state association of food banks, to raise awareness and fight hunger by donating $15 for every assist during the season. Assist for Hunger provided 93,000 meals to Wisconsin families.

So while people excitedly watch the Bucks work their magic on the court this season, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin will be busy planning the second annual Coach Bud’s Assists for Hunger Dinner.
