Tyson K-12, a division of Tyson Foods Inc. committed to providing safe and healthy food to students, recently donated 35,000 pounds of chicken fritters to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. This donation will act as a critical source of protein for the families we serve.

Deb Brunner, dietician specialist for Milwaukee Public Schools, shared that she was excited to have Tyson K-12, one of MPS’ main food suppliers, partner with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin in its mission to solve hunger.

“Hunger goes beyond the school doors,” Brunner explained. “Thus, we are excited to bring these two large organizations together. Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin will distribute the food that Tyson has donated through local pantries that support many of the families with children enrolled in MPS.”

Tyson Foods donated more than 46 million servings of protein last year and invested more than $60 million to fight hunger since 2015. Tyson K-12 is dedicated to feeding the future by supporting foodservice operators in schools all over the U.S.

“We’re always looking for ways to raise awareness about the seriousness of hunger across the country,” said Kenny DeMao, Region Manager for Tyson K-12. “Feeding America of Eastern Wisconsin is dedicated to addressing the issue food insecurity in its community and meeting the immediate need of hunger that so many face.”
