Why did you choose to work at Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin?

I’ve been a part of nonprofits in the past and really love the mission of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. Being able to give back to the community and knowing I am helping to effect real change in the lives of others is a very rewarding experience.

What’s your favorite part of working with volunteers?

I really love meeting people from all walks of life. Everyone has a story and volunteers often have some of the best. They are selfless group of people who are donating their time, knowledge and experiences. Being able to learn from them and draw on their life experience has definitely helped me in my professional and personal life.

Why are volunteers such an important part of the work we do?

With the amount of food that is sent to and through our facilities, we would not be able to help those who need it most without the time and energy given by our volunteers.

What’s unique about the volunteer experience here?

Being able to volunteer at Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin allows you the chance to get a visceral experience of the hunger problems facing residents of eastern Wisconsin. While volunteers are appreciated in any context, here they really make the difference and we strive to make them feel welcomed and appreciated.
