Patti Habeck, president of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, was one of five Wisconsin leaders to receive the Northwestern Mutual Leadership Award through the Donald Driver Foundation’s sixth annual Driven to Achieve Awards on Saturday, March 23 at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee.

“I couldn’t be happier to receive this honor. I work to eliminate hunger alongside incredible friends, philanthropists, visionaries, volunteers, and front-line advocates,” Patti shared. “Many thanks to Donald and Bettina Driver and the Donald Driver Foundation, Northwestern Mutual, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin board, staff and volunteers, and our network of incredible food pantries, meal programs, and emergency shelters.”

Former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver announced the winners back in January, 2019. Driver launched the awards program in 2014 to honor local and national leaders for outstanding community efforts. In addition, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin received a $40,000 gift from the Donald Driver Foundation. The program has donated more than $1.2 million to charitable organizations.

Other honorees included Dr. David Margolis of Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Ann Swain, director of Mequon-based Special Spaces Wisconsin; Damian Buchman, founder and chief executive officer of Wauwatosa’s The Ability Center; and Nicole Renouard, executive director of Centro Legal in Milwaukee.

The event drew a large number of Milwaukee-area business executives, community leaders and celebrities.
