FarmLink

What is FarmLink?

A ground-breaking initiative from Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, FarmLink directly connects LOCAL Wisconsin farms to LOCAL Wisconsin food pantries.

Through FarmLink, freshly grown produce is distributed directly, minimizing shelf life and transportation time, ensuring a fresh healthy product for our neighbors in need.

FarmLink began as a joint effort between our food bank and the Medical College of Wisconsin with the aim to improve the health and well-being of Wisconsin communities. The process for doing so was twofold in increasing access to fresh fruits and vegetables at pantries by building economically viable and socially responsible relationships with local farmers.

Food banks and food pantries continue to play a vital role in providing nourishment to food insecure individuals, and fresh fruits and vegetables are not only in increasing demand but are an integral part of any nutritious diet. Through our FarmLink initiative, we contract directly with local farms to produce a variety of fresh products like potatoes, peppers, melons, sweet corn, tomatoes and more.
