DESCRIPTION:With Thanksgiving fast approaching\, several community organizations are coming together to help those in need by hosting one of the largest holiday food drives in the state! \nFeeding America Eastern Wisconsin’s 28th Annual Stuff the Bus event kicks off at 11 a.m. on Friday\, November 21st – at SIX METRO MARKET stores (see below for exact locations) – and continues throughout the day until 6 p.m. \nDonors are asked to bring non-perishable food items from home\, or purchase pre-packed “Sack Hunger Bags” for $5 at the check-out lines of any of the Stuff the Bus store locations to fill a Milwaukee County Transit System bus or Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin truck parked in front of each store. Supporters may also make monetary donations in-person during the event or online to ensure our neighbors in need have nutritious food to eat\, not just during the holidays\, but all year long. DESCRIPTION:The Elevating Voices: Midwest Power Summit is an advocacy and leadership development summit created by and designed for neighbors with lived expertise with food insecurity. \nEvery year\, major policy decisions are made on the programs that keep families fed. But rarely are these decisions informed by the very families that participate in these programs. This summit will be held in-person on Saturday\, March 14th and Sunday\, March 15th in Milwaukee\, Wisconsin. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nElevating Voices attendees will build stronger relationships with peer advocates\, community partners\, and decision makers by participating in immersive advocacy skill-building workshops. Attendees will co-create an action plan that lives beyond the summit and will build trust between attendees\, neighbors\, and organizations. SUMMARY:Feed the Body\, Feed the Soul
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by Oshkosh Corporation®\, in partnership with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin\, the ninth annual Feed the Body\, Feed the Soul event returns on Thursday\, September 17\, 2026. This 12-hour celebration of volunteerism features over 1\,000 volunteers coming together to package and prepare over 250\,000 pounds of white and brown rice\, a high-demand staple at food pantries in Wisconsin. \nSince its launch in 2017 by Oshkosh Corporation\, ‘Feed the Body\, Feed the Soul’ has become a signature event for friends\, families\, co-workers\, and business leaders. Generous local sponsors fund the purchase of rice\, which is then secured by Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. Hundreds of community volunteers then come together to package the product\, which is ultimately distributed to food pantries throughout Northeast Wisconsin. \nThis year’s event takes place at the Oshkosh Arena in Oshkosh from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will include live music throughout the day to feed volunteers’ souls and keep energy levels high. \nEvent organizers are still looking for volunteers to fill two-hour time slots throughout the day\, but especially later in the day during the 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. shift.
