DESCRIPTION:Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is proud to partner with Summerfest\, Saz’s Hospitality Group\, and FOX6 Milwaukee for Saz’s Stomp Out Hunger Day / Summerfest Opening Day on Thursday\, June 18th! \nAny Summerfest attendee who arrives between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. and donates at least three (3) non-perishable food items will receive one FREE admission ticket\, valid for the day and time of the promotion only. Food donations will be accepted at all three Summerfest gates (Mid Gate\, North Gate\, or South Gate). Limit one ticket per person. All donations made during this time will benefit Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. \nMAKE A MONETARY DONATION \nA credit card donation of $10 or more made by clicking the button above will also be accepted day-of in lieu of non-perishable food items. But for many families\, the arrival of summer comes with its own set of challenges. When school is out\, hundreds of children across our footprint lose access to the healthy meals they receive for free during the school year. Once school lets out for the summer\, kids should be thinking about which park to play in\, not worrying about where their next meal will come from. Sadly\, 1-in-6 children in Eastern Wisconsin are currently facing hunger\, and losing a reliable source of nutritious meals during the summer months is a major contributing factor. \nSummer hunger is real – and it can have devastating\, long-term consequences for children. A child’s growth\, their resistance to disease\, their ability to focus and learn\, their energy\, and their behavior are all affected by what they eat.
